Collection: Halloween

Looking for something to fill your home with that perfect, spooky-season scent?

Wax melts and candles are both used to create fragrance and ambience in a space, but they work in different ways. Here's a breakdown of what they are and how they compare:

🕯️ What Are Candles?

Candles are solid blocks of wax with a wick in the centre that you light with a flame. The heat from the flame melts the wax around the wick, releasing fragrance and light.

🔧 Components:

  • Wax (soy, beeswax, paraffin, coconut, etc.)

  • Wick (cotton, wood)

  • Scent (fragrance or essential oils)

  • Container (glass jar, tin, pillar form, etc.)

✅ Benefits:

  • Adds cosy lighting (especially in dark rooms)

  • Available in many scents, sizes, and styles

  • Decorative and gift-friendly

⚠️ Considerations:

  • Needs supervision—open flame

  • It can produce soot if burned improperly

  • Must be placed on heat-safe surfaces

🧊 What Are Wax Melts?

Wax melts are flameless scented wax pieces—like cubes, hearts, or themed shapes—that are melted in a wax warmer (electric or tealight-powered). They don’t have a wick and don’t burn like candles; instead, they just melt and release fragrance.

🔧 Components:

  • Wax (usually soy, paraffin, or blended)

  • Scented with fragrance or essential oils

  • Melted using:

    • Electric wax warmers (plug-in)

    • Tealight wax warmers (small candle underneath)

✅ Benefits:

  • No open flame (safer around pets/kids when using electric warmers)

  • Strong fragrance throw

  • You can control how much wax you use

  • Easy to mix scents

⚠️ Considerations:

  • Requires a warmer device

  • Doesn’t provide light ambience like a candle

  • You’ll need to clean out old wax
